My SGI Journey

A few years ago, I converted from Christianity to Buddhism.  Religious conversion is not easy.  I was caught between how I felt in the present and what I was taught in the past. There were people who criticized and judged my decision to make this change.  I have been told that changing my religion was disrespectful to my mother, even though my mother didn't have a problem with it.  I have even been told that I was going to hell.  What I learned from all of this is we each have our own destiny.  Nobody can tell me what is best for my life anymore than I can tell someone what is best for theirs.
