Book Beginnings - #1

Book Beginnings is a weekly meme hosted by A Few More Pages every Friday.

The rules:
Share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading on your blog or in the comments. Include the title and the author so we know what you're reading. Then, if you would like, let us know what your first impressions were based on that first line, and let us know if you liked or did not like the sentence. The link-up will be at A Few More Pages every Friday and will be open for the entire week.

Here's mine:
The Restorer by Amanda Stevens
The Restorer (Graveyard Queen)"I was nine when I saw my first ghost.  My father and I were raking leaves in the cemetery where he'd worked for years as the caretaker."

I knew right away that I was going to love this book (I have not been disappointed).  After reading the first page I decided to do a bit of research on Amanda Stevens.  That's when I discovered that there is a prequel (The Abandoned), so I decided to read it first.  It was great.  You can read my review of The Abandoned here.

  6. this just establishes how important the first two sentences are. (I just posted about this today on my blog http://sassy3421.blogspot.com/2011/05/first-two-sentences.html lol)
