I'm not sure if you (my fellow readers) subscribe to the Shelf Awareness daily newsletter or not. If you don't I strongly encourage you to do so. It's full of information on the happenings in the book world. As you all know I am still teetering on the fence about ebooks, readers, and such. So I thought you might find this little article an interesting find: Notes: E-Book Sales Per Capita; Borders Liquidators Race Clock.
We're all aware that there are 200 Borders stores closing soon. I was able to stop by a local store on Saturday, they still had a fairly decent selection, but the prices are slashed up to 50%. Now is a great time to stock up, especially on those books that you may not have purchased otherwise. Maybe there is an ebook that you fell in love with, so you might actually consider purchasing a hard copy if it were say...half off?
If you go to the store locator on the Borders site, the stores that are closing are indicated, for your convenience. Everything must be sold by April 30th (that's what I read anyway).
Thanks for letting me know about Shelf Awareness!
ReplyDeleteWe lost all our Borders over here in the UK a while back :(

ReplyDelete@PWB I'm sorry all the stores in the UK are closed. I fear that bookstores are becoming extinct...I hope not in my lifetime :-(
